Microsoft Announce Keyboard and Mouse Support for Xbox One in Partnership with Razer

The cross-platform games are a bit of problem for the gamers, especially when having a ranking battle, or some other stuff. For example, the Gears of War series is a third-person game, so therefore, there might be some issues with the first-person shooters. PC users typically have much movement advantage compared to players using controllers in games like the game mentioned above.

This is a reason why Microsoft said that the Xbox One will be getting full and official mouse and keyboard support on June 2016. Fans have waited for years and they found nothing. But that disappointment has disappeared company said on their blog post that they are doing it this time. According to them, a preliminary version will be available, but for the selected Xbox insiders only.

Microsoft has also teamed up with Razer so that they will provide the best gaming hardware available and the Chroma lighting effects which is Razer’s signature in terms of their computer hardware and peripherals. Almost all of the USB keyboards and mice will work on this new feature, but Microsoft said that it will be up to the game developers if they will support this new feature for Xbox.

“It’s important to note that mouse and keyboard support for games is added on a title-by-title basis, entirely at developers’ discretion. For all other titles, nothing changes. Mouse and keyboard input is not enabled by default for games. Each development team knows their titles best and we support them in creating the right experience for their games as they see fit, to ensure an optimal and fair gaming experience. Warframe will be one of the first titles testing mouse and keyboard input when the feature arrives to Insider in the coming weeks”, they said.

Microsoft is really dedicated in bringing this new feature to provide a balanced gaming experience for the cross-platform games, and also, for the gamer’s benefit as well. When this feature will finally roll up, it is expected that the “Keyboard and Mouse vs. Controller” issue will finally end up.

Microsoft is working hard from small to big studios and they were gathering feedback from the testers to bring out the best feature before its expected launch later this year. On November 10th, Microsoft is planning to share more details about its partnership with Razer during their Inside Xbox stream on, so stay close with TechnoCodex and we will bring you the latest updates.
