MediaTek on Tuesday announced their new generation 5G-enabled SOCs at CES 2020 in Las Vegas. The new Dimensity 800 is the company’s third-edition to the Dimensity series. The new SOCs is designed for mid-range smartphones in the coming years.
The Dimensity 800 will be powered in the mid-ranger smartphones. It will bring dual-mode 5G capabilities. Once available, users will not have to buy premium-end smartphones to use 5G connectivity as the same connectivity will be made available to budget smartphones using the MediaTek’s Dimensity 800 SoC.
If we talk about the specifications of this new Chipset, then the Dimensity 800 is designed with the same 7nm octa-core processor with four Cortex A76 cores clocking at 2.0GHz and four Cortex A55 cores working at 2.0GHz. Apart from the processor, the SoC is equipped with Mali-G57MP4, an advanced graphics card.
This chipset is designed with the innovative HyperEngine Gaming Technology. This technology is used to offer ultimate gaming experience even if you have a mid-range smartphone. The same SoC will be offering high-end Artificial Intelligence-based features to your smartphones.
The devices will be supporting up to 16GB of RAM. This means the same SoC can be used on high-end smartphones as well. Furthermore, the company has also said that the new SoC has got all the features and specifications of a high-end chipset.
The smartphones with up to 64- Megapixel of Cameras or 32- Megapixel of camera are compatible with it. Some useful innovative camera features are also equipped with the chipset using Artificial Intelligence technology.
Apart from this, Taiwanese Electronics giant has claimed that this is the first chipset for mobile devices coming with the world’s first multi-frame 4K video HDR capability.
Talking about the coverage with this chipset, it will be able to offer up to 30 percent wider coverage than the traditional devices. It also supports voice and data over 5G connections making it easier for the users to have an interruption-free communication.
It will be offering up to 3.5Gbps download speeds and up to 1.25Gbps upload speeds. The Chipset supports 5G+ 5G Dual SIMs with dual-standby allowing users to use multiple SIM cards simultaneously on one single device.
