Looks like the Zuck vs Musk fight isn’t happening

Disappointing news for enthusiasts of billionaire brawls. It appears that the highly anticipated cage match between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk may not actually happen. In an exclusive audio recording obtained by the publication, a surprisingly fit Zuckerberg expressed uncertainty about the event during a company town hall meeting at Meta.

Zuckerberg’s remarks about the match came up during a company-wide discussion about Meta’s recently unveiled Twitter rival, Threads, which has made quite an impact since its introduction a few weeks ago.

It’s important to note that Zuckerberg did not specifically declare the match canceled, but rather acknowledged its unlikelihood. So, fight fans, perhaps there is still hope. Musk, who is a fan of fresh air and has not responded thus far, may actually feel a sense of relief given Zuckerberg’s newfound expertise in jiu jitsu.

The cage fight was initially a subject of speculation, with the two billionaires playfully teasing about the date and venue over the past month or so. While Zuckerberg seemed quite serious about the fight from the beginning, Musk eventually agreed, tweeting (or should we say “xing”?) that he was willing to participate in a cage match if the Meta CEO was up for it. Musk also mentioned his “great move” called “the walrus,” where he simply lies on top of his opponents and does nothing.

Zuckerberg appeared ready to take on the challenge, as corroborated by his trainer, MMA legend Alex Volkanovsky. Despite treating the entire situation as a joke, Musk did take some steps to prepare for the fight, accepting a training offer from UFC champion Georges St-Pierre and engaging in sparring sessions with podcaster Lex Fridman. However, these activities seem to occur when Musk is not occupied with retweeting (or re-xing) hateful anti-trans content and making controversial rule changes on Twitter, allowing for misgendering. Dana White, the president of UFC, has also expressed their readiness to support the event.
