Location Tracking Bug With Some Other Minor Bugs now Fixed with iOS 13.3.1 Update


Apple today released a new update for iOS users with iOS 13.3.1. The latest iOS update is there with two major fixes of the existing OS. The company has released the same version for iPad and iPod touch devices as well. Apparently, the new updates are there to fix all the bugs existed in the present OS.

The new update brings some new features for Apple’s latest offerings i.e. iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro. Users of these devices can now toggle off or on the U1 ultra-wideband chip. The same feature was reported by many agencies and even users. This feature allows third-parties to keep track of your location even if you are not using them. Users can now toggle off this ultra-wideband chip to prevent such third-parties tracking your current location etc.

However, security experts suggested that Apple didn’t collect the data from the users without their consent. However, the company has said that to overcome the confusion about the security of the users’ data and location tracking, they are providing with a toggle button. You can enable or disable this feature as per your needs right from the Settings menu.

Users can bypass this issue by disabling this option from their iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro devices. The U1 is currently used for Apple’s file-sharing app i.e. Apple AirDrop. However, the same U1 chip will find out other third-party apps in the future. They are encouraging developers to make use of this chip in their new apps.

Apart from this major location tracking feature, the new update fixes the Communication Limits feature along with some other known bugs reported by the users in the existing OS.

In a nutshell, Apple has released the official update not only for the iPhones but all the other devices i.e. iPad, iPod Touch and MacBooks. All the devices to get new OS updates. If you are using any of the Apple devices, make sure to update them now to avoid all the potential errors encountered by the bugs.

For iOS users, go to the Apps menu and open the Settings menu. Go to General and select Software update option. The system will check for the new update which you can download and install as per your needs.
