LG Q7, Q7 Plus and Q7 Alpha with FHD+ FullVision Display Launched
LG has quietly refreshed its mid-range lineup with the launch of LG Q7, Q7+, and Q7 Alpha smartphones in South Korea. The latest Q-series trio will roll out starting from Europe from early next month, followed by countries in the Americas and Asia. Pricing of the devices is not disclosed yet. The LG Q7 and Q7+ come in Aurora Black, Moroccan Blue, and Lavender Violet color options while the Q7 Alpha comes only in Moroccan Blue color option.
The LG Q7, Q7+, and Q7 Alpha offer premium features like the military-grade metallic body that is touted to have passed 14 of the MIL-STD 810G tests, this is also IP68-certified for water and dust resistance. It also has Portrait mode, QLens, Hi-Fi quality audio, DTS:X 3D Surround Sound, and the top-end Q7+ also comes with Hi-Fi Quad DAC. There is also a Smart Rear Key fingerprint sensor that doubles as a camera shutter button, capture screenshots, and control the notification bar.
LG Q7, Q7+, and Q7 Alpha specifications
Talking about specifications, the LG Q7, Q7+, and Q7 Alpha run Android 8.0 Oreo operating system and sports a 5.5” full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) FullVision 18:9 display with 442ppi pixel density. The smartphones are powered by the 1.5GHz/ 1.8GHz (depending on the market) octa-core processor. The LG Q7 and Q7 Alpha offer 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage, while LG Q7+ has 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage. The internal storage can be further expanded up to 2TB via microSD card.
For photography, the LG Q7 and Q7 Alpha have a 13MP rear camera sensor with a PDAF lens, while the Q7+ sports a 16MP primary shooter. On the front, the LG Q7 and Q7+ have an 8MP/ 5MP super wide angle camera (depending on the market). The LG Q7 Alpha comes with a 5MP shooter with a super wide angle lens for talking group selfies. Like its flagship LG G7 ThinQ, the Q7 also makes use of AI for facial and scene recognition through QLens. There’s a portrait mode that lets users click selfies with a depth of field effect.
The LG Q7, Q7+, and Q7 Alpha are fuelled by a 000mAh battery that supports Qualcomm’s Fast Charge technology to deliver 50 percent of charge in about 30 minutes. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, and USB Type-C port. it measures 143.8×69.3×8.4mm and weighs 145 grams.
“With selected features just only recently introduced in our 2018 LG G7 ThinQ, the Q7 is a great combination of features, design, performance and price,” said Ha Jeung-uk, senior vice president and business unit leader for LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, in a press statement while announcing the new Q series model.
