Rumours of LG working on a phone with a rollable OLED display have been doing the rounds for some time. The launch is expected next year in March. Now, as per a LetsGoDigital report that’s based on LG’s trademark application for the name of its phone with the EUIPO, we may just have the commercial name of the device confirmed.
Well, the rollable phone by LG is going to be called LG Rollable, as per the report. Yes, simply LG Rollable.
According to the report, the application for the name was filed by intermediary Mitscherlich from Munich. Some of the other suggested names for the device, as per the report, were LG The Roll, LG Double Roll, LG Dual Roll, LG Bi-Roll, and LG Roll Canvas. The company finally settled for Rollable.
According to earlier reports, the rollable phone is codenamed “Project B”. It would be the second phone under LG’s Explorer project. The rumours about a rollable device by LG had started floating around when the company filed 10 applications with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in 2019.
