Last week, LG launched its much-anticipated smartphone – the Velvet that comes with a fresh design. And now, it looks like the company has been working on a new smartphone that comes with a completely new design.
According to reports from South Korea’s Herald Corp and ETNews, the company’s next smartphone could be a phone codenamed “Wing”, so named for the unique appearance the two-screen device takes on when “opened.”
The newly surface two concept images shows a phone with two screens atop one another. The bottom screen of the phone is only seen when the top screen is swiveled horizontally. The top screen looks like your standard 6.8-inch Android offering, while the “sub-screen” comprises a four-inch square.
As of now, we don’t have an idea of the purpose of this design. However, the shared picture shows the sub-screen being used as a keyboard, and then again as an extension of the top screen.
As of now, it is unclear if these images represent a planned handset or are simply concept designs. They might turn out to a real mobile or remain just in the images. Well, LG has a track record of launching unique design and features and the Wing does align with the brand’s ambition to set itself apart from its rivals. Still, implementing such a design would require the company to make notable changes in hardware and software end.
