Kodak 43-Inch 4K Smart TV: Review

The market of Smart TVs has grown very tremendously in the last few months. As many manufacturers started launching Smart TVs with great specifications under a great budget. And this leads to its huge popularity in the Electronics market. Starting from Xiaomi who introduced many Smart TVs in the market at a great price, one such from its collection is the recently launched Xiaomi Mi 4X Pro and Mi 4A Pro which has taken a great lead in the market. Just after its launch, Super Plastronics Pvt. Ltd. (SPPL), formerly known as Kodak, has launched its new Budget-friendly 43-Inch 4K Smart TV in India.

The new Kodak 43-Inch 4K Smart TV is considered as one of the cheapest  4K TV available in the market with such great specifications. This 4K smart TV is now available on Flipkart priced at Rs. 23,999. Now, let’s find out is it really worth your money?

Inbox Contents

Starting from its Inbox Content, you’ll get the new Kodak 43-Inch 4K Smart TV and a simple IR remote with two AAA battery. Unfortunately, you’ll not the get any voice assistant in this remote. You’ll get only a simple remote with normal TV functionality and some other one-tap access buttons. Moving further, you’ll get a table-top stand in the box and also a wall mount kit. In addition, you’ll get a warranty card and a user-manual like all the TVs have in the box. So, these are the things which you’ll get inside the box of Kodak 43-Inch 4K Smart TV.

Build and Design

Now after unboxing you TV, you’ll get your Kodak 43-Inch 4K Smart TV which has a plastic body. Basically, this Smart TV is slightly thinner than that of Mi TV 4A PRO and has a slim bezel. We can’t remark its bezel as ultra slim but yes you’ll get an average bezel thickness. As its name suggests, it has a 43-Inch UHD display with a 3840×2160 resolution which is harder to get in this price range. As you can get an FHD Smart TV easily in this price range, but not a UHD TV. So, that’s a benchmark set by Kodak for other manufacturers.

Display and Configuration

So, as I mentioned earlier, the new Kodak 4K Smart TV has a 43-Inch 4K IPS display with 3840×2160 resolution. With the 4K resolution, this smart TV is powered by HDR 10 technology with 550 nits of brightness to give you an immersive picture quality. In addition, this TV has a 178-Degree Wide viewing angle so that, you can get an amazing viewing experience from any corner of your room. So, overall, it has an immersive 4K display which produces crisp and sharper pictures to give you a great viewing experience.

Now coming on the configurations which you get in the Kodak 43-Inch 4K Smart TV. This smart TV is provided with 3 HDMI ports out of which you’ll find two of them on the rear panel and one on the side panel. In addition, you’ll get 2 USB ports one RJ45 port, Audio Out port and a Headphone Jack. You’ll find most of the input porta on the back panel, while few of them are placed at the side of the panel. Moreover, you’ll get WiFi connectivity in this TV but unfortunately, there isn’t any Bluetooth support.

Apart from that, Kodak 43-Inch 4K Smart TV runs on a dual operating system, Android 5.0 and Aptoide. However, it is sad to see an older version of Android in this latest Smart TV as most of the TVs today are coming with Android 7.0 or above. Meanwhile, because of having an Android Operating system, it offers a wide selection of Contents and apps to download from Store. Also, it is provided with some pre-installed apps including, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Flipkart and a few of more. The thing which is a bit disappointing that you’ll not find a dedicated button to access these apps directly. You have to go through the app explorer and have to find Netflix, Amazon Prime, and a few more apps.

Now, in terms of the performance, it delivers an average performance as it comes with a 1.4Ghz Dual-core processor with Mali-T720 Graphics Unit which is, of course, less powerful than a Quad Core processor which most of the 4K Smart TVs has. In addition, this TV comes with 1GB RAM and has an Internal Storage of 8GB out of which you will get at most 4.75GB of User Memory. So,  in terms of performance, you cannot expect much from this 4K TV. However, it will deliver a satisfactory performance.

Final Call

So,  as from our perspective, this Kodak 43-Inch 4K Smart TV is a worth buy for those who are looking for a 4K Smart TV under a budget of 30,000. Although it has some downsides,  it delivers better picture quality and average performance.
