On Tuesday, Indian mobile manufacturing company Karbonn launched a new smartphone called Karbonn K9 Kavach 4G. It is an entry level smartphone with the price tag of Rs. 5290 ($82 approx). The phone will be available to purchase from today onwards via offline retail channel.
Karbonn K9 Kavach 4G Features –
The main highlight of the smartphone is its UPI integration, it comes with pre-loaded BHIM app (Bharat Interface for Money) for UPI base payments. The app has been optimized for a better user experience and performance. The app has been integrated at the firmware level to make it secure.
Apart from UPI integration, the Karbonn smartphone comes with eKYC and Aadhaar authentication and access to e-Gov and Digilocker services, the ability to carry out transactions from the phonebook itself, make payments within the messenger apps and other bill payment as well as utility services.
As the name of the phone ‘Kavach’ itself suggested the company is highly focusing on security as well. The smartphone comes equipped with a fingerprint scanner, to secure not only banking and monetary transaction, but it also adds some extra layer of security of the device. The fingerprint sensor with features like app lock, capture image and smart finger touch dialing.
Karbonn K9 Kavach 4G Specification–
The Karbonn K9 Kavach 4G runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and sports a 5”HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display. The phone is powered by a 1.25GHz quad-core processor and offers 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 32GB via micro SD card.
The Karbonn K9 Kavach 4G comes with a 5MP rear camera with auto-focus and LED flash, on the front end it also having a 5MP front facing camera with LED flash. Connectivity options of the smartphone include dua-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, FM radio, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The smartphone is powered by a 2300mAh battery.
