Anime enthusiasts, get ready for an exciting summer season on Crunchyroll! The highly-anticipated return of JUJUTSU KAISEN Season 2 headlines the lineup, with four other premieres, including ZOM 100 and Bungo Stray Dogs.
The summer anime season is now in full swing, and starting this Thursday on Crunchyroll, you can catch the premieres of some of the biggest upcoming titles. First up is the much-awaited return of JUJUTSU KAISEN, followed by Reign of the Seven Spellblades, Liar Liar, Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, and Bungo Stray Dogs Season 5.
In JUJUTSU KAISEN Season 2, the story continues with Itadori Yuji, who has taken in the powerful Ryomen Sukuna, and Okkotsu Yuta, who has freed Orimoto Rika from her curse. Now, in spring 2006, Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru, two exceptional jujutsu sorcerers, embark on a mission assigned by Tengen, the immortal cornerstone of the jujutsu community. Their mission involves protecting and erasing the “Star Plasma Vessel”, Amanai Riko, who is destined to merge with Tengen. However, an assassin named Fushiguro tries to interfere and assassinate the Star Plasma Vessel, uncovering the hidden pasts of Gojo and Geto, who will ultimately become the most powerful jujutsu sorcerer and the most evil curse user.
Reign of the Seven Spellblades takes place at Kimberly Magic Academy, where new students like Oliver, a skilled and diligent boy, and Nanao, a headstrong samurai girl, begin their first year. As they bond in this seemingly idyllic school, they discover dark secrets and endless dangers lurking around every corner. Will these wizards be able to survive until graduation?
Liar Liar introduces us to Academy Island, where students engage in Games to win stars and earn the prestigious title of “Seven Star.” Sarasa, the previous year’s champion, seems on track to win again until Hiroto, a new transfer student, appears. To everyone’s surprise, Hiroto defeats Sarasa through sheer luck. Now, he must rely on bluffs and trickery to stay on top. This mind game of lies and deceit is certainly not JUJUTSU KAISEN, but it’s an intriguing chess-like battle that will keep you entertained.
Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead follows Akira Tendo, who is exhausted mentally and physically from his soul-crushing office job. Just when he thinks life couldn’t get any worse, a zombie apocalypse hits Japan. Stranded amidst hungry zombies, Akira realizes he doesn’t have to work anymore. With a newfound sense of freedom, he embarks on an exciting journey of adventure and self-discovery. It’s not JUJUTSU KAISEN, but this zombie comedy promises fun and laughter.
Finally, in Bungo Stray Dogs Season 5, the Armed Detective Agency faces a looming threat as Kamui, the leader of Tenjin Goshui, targets its detective employees. Will the Agency be able to survive this onslaught? While not JUJUTSU KAISEN, the popularity of this series is evident, especially as it enters its fifth season.
We understand that JUJUTSU KAISEN has stolen the spotlight, but be sure to check out the rest of our Summer 2023 anime season lineup for more exciting simulcast series. Share this news on social media and stay up-to-date with Bleeding Cool on Google News for more anime updates.
