Is Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Getting a Remake? New Report Suggests Development Underway

Reports suggest that Ubisoft is in the early stages of developing a remake of its popular pirate game, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.

According to sources cited by Kotaku, Ubisoft Singapore is heavily involved in the project, but it is still a few years away from release.

Additionally, Ubisoft Singapore is currently working on the game Skull and Bones, which started as an expansion for Black Flag but has since become its own standalone game. This highly-anticipated title has faced multiple delays, with a closed beta announced for August but no confirmed release date.

In the meantime, Ubisoft has several other exciting projects related to the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Codename Red, set in feudal Japan, is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec, known for their work on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. Codename Hexe, helmed by Clint Hocking, will take place during the witch trials in 16th-century Europe. Finally, Codename Infinity will serve as a hub connecting players to various old and new Assassin’s Creed experiences and features multiplayer with a standalone component.

It’s an exciting time for fans of the Assassin’s Creed series, with many new and diverse games on the horizon.
