After a series of rumors and leaks, Apple has finally made iPhone SE (2020) official. As expected, it is one of the most affordable iPhone models in its current lineup. Earlier, it was rumored to be named as iPhone SE 2 or iPhone 9, but at last, the company tool curtains off by calling it iPhone SE. The iPhone SE looks quite similar to the iPhone 8 that was launched as the successor to the iPhone 7 in September 2017. It comes with some top-of-the-line specs and features loaded. iPhone SE (2020) Specifications
The all-new iPhone SE (2020) comes with a standard 4.7-inch Retina HD LCD display with 750×1334 pixels resolution. That’s a regular display size which we have seen on iPhone 8 as well as some previous regular iPhone models. The display panel features Haptic Touch support which we have seen in the newer iPhone models.
Under the hood, the iPhone SE (2020) is powered by the company’s top-of-the-line A13 Bionic chip. This is the same chip powering the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. It comes in three different storage options – 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage options.
In the imaging department, the new iPhone SE (2020) sports a single 12-megapixel camera sensor with an f/1.8 aperture at the back along with a LED True Tone Flash with Slow Sync. At the front, there is a 7-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calling. The rear camera on iPhone SE (2020) features optimized image stabilization (OIS) and also comes with the support for 4K video recording at 60 FPS and Slo‑mo 1080p at 240 FPS.
Apart from this, the new iPhone SE (2020) runs on the latest iOS 13 out-of-the-box and comes with a Touch ID fingerprint sensor. Connectivity options on the phone include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a Lightning port. Last but not the least, it comes with a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery with Qi wireless charging and 18W fast charging support but contains a 5W charger inside the box.
iPhone SE (2020) Price and Availability
As for the price, the iPhone SE (2020) price in India starts at Rs. 42,500 for the 64GB storage variant, Although the smartphone will also be available in 128GB and 256GB storage options, there are no words on their price in India. Also, Apple didn’t specify when the iPhone SE (2020) will be available to buy in India.
In the US, the price of iPhone SE (2020) starts at $399 (approx Rs. 30,600) for the 64GB model, going up to $499 (approx Rs. 38,200) for 128GB model, and $549 (approx Rs. 45,000) for the 256GB model. Furthermore, the phone will be available in Black, White, and (Product) RED color options. Pre-orders of iPhone SE (2020) in the US starts from 5 PM PDT on Friday, April 17, and it will go on sale from Friday, April 24.
