Apple’s all-new iPhone 12 range was first revealed to the world last month with these devices getting a swathe of upgrades including access to 5G data speeds and a ludicrously fast A14 Bionic processor. During the launch event from Apple’s HQ in Cupertino, the firm revealed that the standard iPhone 12 and 12 Pro would arrive in stores soon after the big reveal but those wanting the new Mini or Pro Max faced a much longer wait.
Luckily that delay to their release is now over with both of these devices available to pre-order from the Apple Store tomorrow and it may well have been worth being patient. Both of these devices offer something totally new with the iPhone Mini getting a fully edge-to-edge screen which covers the entire front of the phone.
That means you get a 5.4-inch display packed into a device that’s the same overall size as the 4.7-inch iPhone SE. Although the screen is smaller than the iPhone 12, the Mini includes all of the same features. That means you get the latest processor, 5G access and dual-lens rear camera.
There’s also the clever MagSafe charging which snaps to the back of the phone for a more efficient wireless refill and the display is protected by Apple’s Ceramic Sheild which makes it four times tougher than previous models.

On paper, the Mini certainly looks like an enticing device especially for those wanting something a little smaller in their pocket. The price also starts from £699 which makes this the cheapest of the range.
So that’s the iPhone 12 Mini but what if you want the ultimate phone from Apple?
Well, that accolade has to go to the new Pro Max which now includes the largest ever screen on an iPhone.
In fact, for your money, you’ll be treated to a glorious 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display which, like all of the other new iPhones, includes that strong Ceramic Sheild technology.
Along with that big screen, there’s also an improvement to the triple-lens rear camera system which offers even better low light images and improved zoom.
The Pro Max also gets Apple’s latest image stabilisation technology which should help images and video stay wobble-free.
This is of course Apple premium flagship and that means it gets the highest price tag. In fact, if you want the maxed-out version of the Max with 512GB of storage then you’ll need £1,399 in your bank account.
HOW TO MAKE SURE YOU GET ONE FIRST
If you want to buy the Mini or Max then max sure you are ready to pop one in your online shopping basket tomorrow.
Apple’s pre-orders will be going live on November 6 and, if the Mini and Max follow the same pattern as the iPhone 12, they could sell quickly.
Shipping times slipped soon after the standard 12 and 12 Pro were released with some customers facing a two-week wait to get one delivered to their door and the same could happen to the Mini and Max.
With the new lockdown coming into force it’s unlikely that Apple will be offering in-store collection with the firm recommending buying online for convenient and contactless delivery.
