Intel Announced Six New 9th Generation Processors Without GPU at CES 2019

Like all the manufacturers showcased their flagships at CES 2019, Intel also announced its range of 9th Generation processors at CES 2019. Intel Showcased six processors which range from Core i3 to i9. The only weird thing about this announcement is that, apart from a single SKU from this collection all the processors are going to launch without having an integrated GPU.

All the processors announced have 14nm of fabrication process with Coffee Lake microarchitecture which was likely to present in 9th Generation Processors. The only processor out of these six, Intel Core i5-9400 has an integrated GPU which is none other than Intel’s UHD Graphics 630 iGPU. Rest of the five members in this collection i.e., Core i9-9900KF, Core i9-9700KF, Core i5-9600KF, Core i5-9400F, and Core i3-9350KF didn’t have an integrated GPU. Letter ‘F’ in the last of all these suggest that they didn’t have integrated GPU.

Announcing these range of 9th Generation Processors, Intel also said that this collection will be available in the market from the first quarter of 2019, while on the other hand, the mobile version will be available from the second quarter of 2019. This range of processors by Intel is going to give a tough competition of newly announced AMD Ryzen 3000 series processors.

However, it was a strange announcement by Intel that they are gonna sell processors without GPU. But due to this major step, Intel is going to have some business profits. Manufacturing Processors without graphics units will help them to minimize the production line loss as during fabrication process some processors are encountered with defects mainly caused by Graphics units. So, selling processors without GPU will help them to overcome this problem.

However, this doesn’t affect the chipset performance as the absence of GPU will leave some extra silicon chips which will help to absorb heat from other cores and hence will increase the performance. So, overall this is a great work done by Intel to Improves its chip’s performance as well as to reduce production line cost.
