Instagram might soon start to hide the Likes count on the people’s photos so that other peoples cannot see the number of likes of an individual post. According to a code found on the Instagram app, the company contemplates hiding the number of likes a particular post got.
Later on, this feature was first noticed by a code hunter Jane Wong who regularly finds the hidden codes of social media apps. The main objective of Instagram behind this change is the company wants “your followers to focus on what you share, not how many likes your posts get.” And so, only the person who posted that photo will be able to see the number of likes he gets on that post.

On this change, an Instagram spokesperson tells The Verge that “We’re not testing this at the moment, but exploring ways to reduce pressure on Instagram is something we’re always thinking about.”
Another reason behind the change in Instagram is the recent recommendation given to the social networking site by the British Information Commissioner’s Office. In a report of Independent, the British Information Commissioner’s Office recommends to social networks like Facebook, Instagram etc. to remove the likes counter that encourages other users to keep posting some posts. And just after a few days of this announcement Instagram reflected this change.
As of now, Instagram doesn’t seem to be testing this feature actively and has given no indication of this feature to be rolling out publically. However, we may expect this feature to roll out anytime by the company.
