Just after the launch of iOS 13 and Android 10, most of the apps started getting dark mode treatment to simplify its look. As of now, thousands of apps have already obtained this treatment. And now, Instagram is the latest app to get this dark mode treatment.
Instagram for Android, as well as iOS, starts getting the dark mode treatment. With the latest dark mode, it will be easier for users to scroll through the feeds with less ey strain. It is not a grayscale theme but sports full black. The new UI is much darker overall.
One thing that needs to be noted with Instagram’s dark mode is just like Twitter’s dark mode; it doesn’t allow users to switch to the dark mode manually. The app will automatically switch to the dark mode as per the system-wide settings.
That said, it’s always better to have more visual options, and I can’t complain too much about an Instagram experience that is, in my opinion, much improved. For those keen on trying it out, the update is out now on the App Store and Play Store, depending upon your OS.
