Imgur Launches Melee, a Dedicated Gaming App


Imgur is a popular online photo-sharing platform with millions of its active users on the web and mobile platforms. The platform has launched a new dedicated section with an app called Melee. This Melee app is specially designed for gamers who will be served with daily gaming updates.

This platform will let users share videos and other contents of their favourite games. Melee comes with a direct integration with Switch platform that means Switch users can share contents of their favorite video games to this platform directly.

The photo-sharing app, Imgur has over 300 Million monthly users from which most of them look for the contents of their favorite games. 46% of the total tags on the Imgur platform is of the games and gaming related contents.

Melee is the company’s first individual app. The app lets users subscribe for their favorite games so that they can receive regular updates about the selected games with their fresh video clips and other useful contents. Most gamers are now fond of sharing memes of their games and this app is specially designed for the meme lovers who will receive regular memes focused on the popular game titles.

This new platform will be fully customized and it will let you scroll through the different games right from the main feed. You can select or de-select the games that you don’t want to see on the feed. Imgur launched this app for the iOS platform for now. Talking about the Android version, the makers are planning to introduce this app for Android users in the First Quarter of the next year. The same app will be launched with its Desktop version.

Talking about the security of the users, the company has used an advanced level of security features in this new platform. The app comes with multiple layers of security with an advanced level of security features to protect the users and their personal data associated with their accounts.
