ITN Studios, inspired by the success of their twisted take on Winnie the Pooh, is set to unleash a blood-soaked version of Cinderella’s classic fairytale. The studio recently unveiled the first look of their upcoming film, Cinderella’s Curse, to Variety, and it’s guaranteed to leave audiences stunned.
The movie stars Kelly Rian Sanson (She Said) as the titular princess, sporting the iconic blonde curls but also drenched in sweat, cuts, and blood. Another image showcases a mysterious blonde girl wearing a white mask, possibly wielding a knife. And the final image captures a terrified Sanson looking on in horror. These visuals promise an intriguing experience for horror enthusiasts and fans seeking a unique spin on beloved fairytales.
What’s Cinderella’s Curse About?
Most plot details are being kept under wraps as the feature was filmed in the U.K. with Sanson, Chrissie Wunna (Dragon Fury) as the fairy godmother, and Danielle Scott (Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey) as the evil stepmother. Natasha Tosini, Simon Ellis, Charlotte Coleman, Matthew Baunsgard, Scott McGlynn, and others complete the cast. Louisa Warren directs and produces the film based on a script by Harry Boxley. Warren shares, “This is an incredibly unique spin on the beloved Cinderella tale. Prepare for truly horrific deaths caused by her hands. I believe gore enthusiasts are in for a treat with my dark retelling.”
Warren’s previous works include Britain’s Greatest Ghost Stories (2023), The Ghosts of Borley Rectory (2021), and The Suit Weareth the Man (2020), among others. Despite surprising audiences, Blood and Honey gained a devoted following and earned $5 million at the global box office. Expectations for Cinderella’s Curse are high following the success of the previous film, and it will be interesting to see how audiences respond to this gory retelling of Cinderella’s story.
Cinderella’s Curse is scheduled for release in October, just in time for Halloween.
