Huawei’s New Patent Design Shows A Device With 8 Cameras


Smartphones with multiple camera sensors have started trending among smartphone makers. Most of the tech giants launching their flagship phones with more than 3-camera sensors onboard to take mobile photography capabilities to the next level. And now, Huawei’s new patent design has been spotted sporting the first-ever 8-camera sensors onboard.

According to a report shared on the Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo, Huawei filed a patent design for its upcoming smartphone that comes with 8-camera sensors. The patent shows the complete overall design of the design from every angle. 

The patent design is shown to feature a long display panel with slim bezels. It sports a dual-punch hole design front camera module which is placed at the top-left corner of the display. At the back, the phone has a rectangular camera module that has 6 camera sensors with a long LED flashlight placed horizontally at the bottom in the camera module. The camera module has a little bump at the back. As of now, there is no details of the capabilities of each camera sensor.

At the bottom of the body of the phone, there is a small speaker grill accompanied by a USB Type-C port (most probably) and a primary microphone. At the top of the panel, there is a secondary microphone with an IR sensor (most probably).

Although not all patent design turns out to be real, if this patent turns out to be real, this will be the first smartphone to sport 8-camera sensors onboard.
