Huawei has launched its first smartphone in India with a pop-up selfie camera – Huawei Y9 Prime (2019). This is another mid-range smartphone from the company to compete against some of the existing smartphones in this range. This smartphone was launched back in May globally and now it is launched in the Indian market. Key features of this phone include a triple rear camera, 4000mAh battery, and is powered by HilSilicon Kirin 710 SoC. 

Huawei Y9 Prime (2019) Specifications

The all-new Huawei Y9 features a 6.59-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) TFT display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 391ppi of pixel density. At the back panel, there is a physical fingerprint scanner mounted in the middle.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an octa-core HilSilicon Kirin 710 SoC which is paired with 4GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 has up to 128GB of onboard storage that is expandable up to 512GB via microSD card. 

In the camera department, the Huawei Y9 Prime (2019) sports a triple rear camera setup that includes a 16-megapixel primary sensor, 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel tertiary sensor. There is also a 16-megapixel selfie camera that is available as a part of the pop-up module.

Apart from this, this smartphone runs on the latest Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9.1 at the top. Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C port. Sensors include an ambient light sensor, gravity sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It also houses a 4,000mAh battery. 

Huawei Y9 Prime (2019) Price and Availability

The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 price in India has been set at Rs. 15,990 for the lone 128GB storage variant. The phone will be available for purchase in Emerald Green and Sapphire Blue color options.

This phone will be made available via starting from 12 pm (noon) IST on August 7, exclusively for Prime members, while regular customers would be able to purchase the phone from the online marketplace starting 12 pm (noon) IST on August 8.
