Huawei Y5 Prime 2018 With Face Unlock Goes Official


After launching Huawei Y3 – the entry-level Android Go smartphone, Huawei has now launched a new budget-centric smartphone dubbed as Huawei Y5 Prime 2018. The smartphone is currently listed on company’s official website, while the pricing and availability of the device haven’t been confirmed yet.

Talking about the specifications, the Huawei Y5 Prime 2018 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system with EMUI 8.1 skin on top. it sports a 5.45” HD+ (1440 x 720) display. The smartphone is powered by the 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.

For photography, the Huawei Y5 Prime 2018 comes with a 13MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash support for better lowlight capturing. On the front, it has a 5MP shooter for selfies and video calls. The front camera also equipped with facial recognition technology to unlock the device.

The Huawei Y5 Prime 2018 is fuelled by a 3020mAh battery with Power Saving 6.0 technology that is claimed to offer up to 62 hours of continuous music playback and 13 hours of video from a single charge. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, Glonass, and micro USB port. Sensors onboard include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor. It measures 146.5 x 70.9 x 8.3mm and weighs 142 grams.
