Huawei has announced their two new smart wearables, the Watch GT and Band 3 Pro. The announcement came along with Mate 20 series launch event held on Tuesday. The Huawei Watch GT smartwatch runs Huawei’s Light OS rather than Google’s WearOS, and it was claimed to have 14 days of battery life.
It comes with a real-time heart rate monitoring feature, water-resistance, and a sleep and sports tracking features which focuses on fitness tracking capabilities. On the other hand the Huawei Fitness Band 3 Pro features a built-in GPS, AMOLED touchscreen, and water-resistance capabilities as well.
Huawei Watch GT
The Huawei Watch GT offers different strap options, a round-shaped dial, a slim 10.6mm thickness, and a 1.39-inch OLED precise touch screen display with a pixel density of 326ppi. The featured two-week battery life of this smartwatch varies upon the usage of heart-rate monitoring and 90 minutes of exercise per week. Huawei claims that the durable battery life has been made possible due to a dual-chip architecture giving 80 percent power consumption saving.
The Huawei Watch GT is water resistant capability holds up to 50 meters below the water. One more interesting feature is its sleep monitoring support, which was claimed by TruSleep 2.0 to identify common sleep related issues, providing more than 200 possible suggestions for a better sleep.
Watch GT measures 46.5×46.5×10.6 mm and weighs 46 grams with its strap excluded. The case is made of metal, plastic, and ceramic materials, and is available in Black Stainless Steel and Stainless Steel colour options. Huawei Watch GT’s system specification comes with 16MB RAM, 128MB ROM, Bluetooth v4.2 support, and NFC.
Huawei Band 3 Pro
The Huawei Band 3 Pro features a 0.95-inch (120×240 pixels) AMOLED clickable touchscreen display with a 2.5D glass protection. It features a metal frame along a silicone strap, heart-rate tracking feature, and smart sports tracking. Its 100mAh battery offers 100 minutes charging time which was claimed to last for seven hours of active GPS tracking.
The Fitness Band 3 Pro has a dimension of 45x19x11mm, and weighs 25 grams with its strap included. It is available in Obsidian Black, Space Blue, and Quicksand Gold colour options. The smartwatch is powered by an Applo 3 chip, supporting Bluetooth v4.2, 6-axis acceleration sensor, detached PPG cardiotachometer, and an infrared wear sensor as well. Some of its capabilities include a find your phone feature, incoming call notifications, caller ID reject calls, content preview for messages, photo timer, and remote shutter button features.
The Huawei Watch GT costs EUR 199 while the Sport and Classic versions is about EUR 249. The Huawei Band 3 Pro offers a reasonable price of about EUR 99. Both of their availability is still unknown as it hasn’t been announced at the event, but we can expect that their availability might vary depending upon the region.
