Huawei to bring its own Operating System in Q4 2019 if they are not allowed to use Google’s or Microsoft’s OS

Nowadays, the Chinese smartphone maker, Huawei is facing a lot of difficulties in trade in the US after getting blacklisted in the US trade system by President Trump. However, the problem became worst after the tech giant Google refused to continue its business with the Huawei snatching all the future Android updates and its service from the company.

Now, after getting blocked from the American companies, Huawei is working on its Plan B to regain its market. The company has revealed that they are going to bring its own Operating System in China by the end of this year. However, the company mentioned that it will only do so if the company gets completely stopped using Google’s or Microsoft’s software.

As of now, Washington granted a temporary 90-days approval to Huawei to continue to use American technology, however, it is not guaranteed that they will be allowed to continue for a longer period.

Huawei has already said in the past that they have their own operating system but they didn’t reveal it as they have the license of Android OS. But at this stage, the company is forced to launch this OS in the absence of Google’s or Microsoft’s OS.

In a talk to CNBC, one of the executives of Huawei said that the company is preparing its OS for the full-fledged usage and will be ready to roll out in the fourth quarter of this year in China. The global debut is likely to hold in the first or second quarter of 2020. However, they again mentioned that they will only do so if they get completely removed from using Google’s or Microsoft’s OS.

“Today, Huawei, we are still committed to Microsoft Windows and Google Android. But if we cannot use that, Huawei will prepare the plan B to use our own OS,” Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s consumer business, told CNBC on Thursday.

“We don’t want to do this but we will forced to do that because of the U.S. government. I think the U.S., this kind of thing, will also not only be bad news for us, but also bad news for the U.S. companies because we support the U.S. business, so we will be forced to do this on our own,” Yu said. “We don’t want to do this but we have no other solution, no other choice.”

Another problem which the company will face after this removal is the absence of an App Store to download apps and games for the smartphone. As of now, the company uses Google’s native PlayStore for all the apps and games on the phone. But after getting the agreement blocked by the Google, Huawei phones will no longer support Google Play Store and so, the user needs to have some alternative for the PlayStore.

As a solution for this solution, Huawei has its own App Store called the App Gallery which would be available as an alternative for the PlayStore on Huawei’s operating system. The App Gallery is still available on most of the Huawei phones, however, Google Play Store is being used as a default App Store for the users.
