Huawei is gearing up to unveil its latest flagship from its P series – the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro. The company scheduled the launch of its upcoming flagship on March 26. However, as soon as we are getting closer to the launch date, the frequency of leaks and rumors associated with the phone is increasing.
Now a popular leakster, Evan Blass (a.k.a. @evleaks) is back with press renders that show two colorways for these phones with their rear panel in focus. We got to see both the version of P40 series in black and silver color variants.
In terms of look, the Huawei P40 Pro looks more premium than the base variant as it has excessively curvy display. In addition to that, it also has an additional camera on the back compared to the non-Pro model.
In addition to this particular leak, another leak originating from Korea tip us about the insane camera setup on the P40 Premium. This will be the fourth member of the P40 series as we have already seen the Huawei P40 lite officially announced from the company’s end. It’s still unclear whether it will be called P40 Premium or P40 Pro Premium or P40 Pro Premium Edition
As from the report, the Huawei P40 Premium will have two telephoto cameras. A periscope module with f/4.0 aperture and 240mm equivalent lens will provide 10x optical zoom, while an 8 MP f/2.0 80mm equivalent will have 3x optical zoom, out of a 1/4″ sensor. Both of these will come with PDAF and OIS.
If we talk about the camera department, the Huawei P40 Premium is tipped to come with a 52 MP 1/1.28″ type main sensor with f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, and OIS, and possible 13 MP output. There’s also a 40 MP f/1.8 ultrawide camera with a 1/1.54″ sensor and PDAF. At the front, there is a punch-hole to the left where a 32 MP f/2.0 1/2.8″ selfie snapper sits with a ToF 3D camera for depth data and more secure face unlocking. Another such sensor will be on the rear as well to help with Portrait Mode shots.
Apart from this, other expected specs of the P40 Premium include a 6.7″ 1440×3160 OLED touchscreen with 120Hz refresh rate, the Kirin 990 5G chipset, 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. It is expected to run on Android 10 sans Google services, with EMUI 10.1 on top.
As of now, there is no guarantee that the P40 Premium will turn out to be real from the company’s end. So, we advise you to take this leak as a grain of salt. However, we will get confirmation on this leak on March 26 when Huawei wil unveil its flagship P40 series smartphones.
