Huawei Mate Xs with Foldable FullView Display, Quad Rear Camera Launched: Price, Specifications

After a successful debut of the company’s first foldable smartphone Huawei Mate X, the company has just launched the successor of its foldable phone – Huawei Mate Xs. Huawei launched the new foldable smartphone in an event in Barcelona. Huawei has brought this Mate Xs with a foldable FullView display that features three displays. Let’s take a closer look at the company’s latest flagship foldable smartphone.

Huawei Mate Xs Specifications

The all-new Huawei Mate Xs features an 8-inch OLED display when unfolded with a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels, a 6.6-inch display in the front when folded, and a 6.38-inch display at the back. The company has brought in a ‘quad-layer’ construction for the screen doubled with two layers of a polyamide film.

The design of the phone is almost similar to that of its predecessor, however, the company mentioned that the Mate Xs is a stronger and more durable phone with a redesigned hinge. It packs a falcon-wing design for the hinge.

Under the hood, the Huawei Mate Xs is powered by the latest octa-core HilSilicon Kirin 990 SoC which packs a Kirin 980 and a Balong 5000. This means that the phone comes integrated with a 5G modem. The phone comes in a single variant with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage.

In the camera department, Huawei Mate Xs sports a quad-rear camera setup that includes a 40MP f/1.8 main shooter, an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto lens with OIS and 16MP f/2.2 ultrawide snapper. There is also a ToF module for even better edge detection and great-looking bokeh shots. Huawei mentioned that the cameras are ultra-high light-sensitive with a 45x zooming range. Well, there is no front camera on Mate Xs. So, you will have to turn your phone to the back to capture selfies. 

Apart from this, the phone runs on the latest open-source version on Android with EMUI 10 at the top. It comes with the Huawei Mobile Services instead of the Google services. Last but not the least, Huawei Mate Xs is fuelled by a massive 4,500 mAh with 55W fast-charging capabilities, with the required charger included in the box.

Huawei Mate Xs Price and Availability

As for the price, Huawei Mate Xs which is available in a single variant is priced at €2,499 (approx 195,460 INR) and will start selling globally starting next month.
