Huawei Enjoy 8e Youth with 18:9 Display, MediaTek MT6739 SoC Launched


Huawei has launched a new budget-centric smartphone dubbed as Huawei Enjoy 8e Youth in China. The smartphone comes with the price tag of 799 Yuan ($125/ Rs. 8,500 approx.). It comes in Black, Blue, and Gold color options. The smartphone is currently available for pre-orders via VMall, while its shipments will begin starting June 1.

Talking about the specifications, the Huawei Enjoy 8e Youth runs on EMUI 8.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. It sports a 5.45” HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) 18:9 LCD display with 295ppi of pixel density. The smartphone is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6739 quad-core processor coupled with PowerVR GE1800 GPU. It offers 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.

For photography, the Huawei Enjoy 8e Youth comes with a 13MP primary camera with autofocus, PDAF and dual-tone LED flash. On the front, it has a 5MP selfie shooter with soft-light LED flash. It features a beauty mode for snapping enhanced selfies.  The front camera also equipped with facial recognition technology to unlock the device.

The Huawei Enjoy 8e Youth is fuelled by a 3,020mAh battery. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. Sensors on board include a gravity sensor, light sensor, and a proximity sensor.  There is no fingerprint scanner available on this phone. It measures 146.5 x 70.9 x 8.3 mm and weighs 142 grams.
