HP Z2 Workstations Lineup Unveiled


To cater the increasing demand of high-performing entry workstations HP launched Z2 series HP Z2 Mini, HP Z2 Small Form Factor, HP Z2 Tower, and HP EliteDesk 800 workstation.

HP claimed Z2 series to be the world’s most powerful entry workstations for product designers, architects, creative professionals, OEMs, educators and finance professionals.

On the occasion of the launch Carol Hess, Vice President, Worldwide Workstations Product Management and GTM, HP said “The number one thing we hear from creative professionals and other power users is the need for higher-performance PCs built to meet their needs. Our new HP Z workstation portfolio addresses this by delivering the world’s most powerful entry workstations.”

In the series, HP Z2 Mini G4 Workstation packs NVIDIA’s Quadro P600 and P1000 GPUs, or AMD Radeon Pro WX4150 graphics. The core of the machine is Intel’s six-core Xeon processor, and it is portable.

The HP Z2 SFF G4 Workstation 50 percent more processing power into the similar cabinet with Intel Xeon six-core processor and it has “flexible” I/O options with room for legacy or specialized equipment, four PCIe slots, and two M.2 storage slots. Intel’s integrated UHD 630 to NVIDIA’s Quadro P1000.

The tower model HP Z2 Tower G4 Workstation could garner 60 percent more graphics power over the previous generation and supported with Intel’s latest Core and Xeon processors and has dual M.2 storage slots.  Graphics options range from Intel UHD 630 up to NVIDIA’s Quadro P5000.

Targeting to cater 2D and 3D design and drafting software HP EliteDesk 800 Workstation Edition comes with SolidWorks and AutoCAD certification. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080.

The expected date of availability of Z2 series is by the end of July this year while the price range of the products would be $642 to $ 799. The Mini could around with a price tag of starting $799, while SFF and Tower will start at $749 and $769, respectively.  The  EliteDesk 800 Workstation Edition will have a starting price of $642.
