How to Beat Spec Ops Missions in COD: Modern Warfare

With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s new update, the developer Infinity Ward has added Special Ops co-op missions, which you can play with three more players. These Special Ops missions were not a part of the original Modern Warfare (2007) but have taken inspiration from MW 2 and 3 instead.
However, this time around, we get to see a story connecting the co-op missions. It is supposed to be a continuation of the Modern Warfare campaign. Completing these missions also turned out to be very difficult, even with a group of four.
In this guide, we will walk you through the recommended weapon loadout and munitions, as well as talk about two of the most critical roles in the Spec Ops missions.

Loadout for Spec Ops Missions

How to Beat Spec Ops Missions in COD: Modern WarfareIn order to complete a Spec Ops mission, the first key to victory is the right balance of weapons throughout the squad. The weapon loadout varies from missions to missions, so players have to discuss it with their teammates.
For those who are comfortable with rifles, the M4A4 Assault Rifle is a balanced gun for any type of gunfights. Snipers can go with the Dragunov semi-auto rifle, which is suitable for both mid and long-range enemy kills.
The PKM and MG34 Light Machine Guns (LMG) are extremely powerful. With its fire rate and large ammo capacity, it can bring down enemy waves if appropriately used.
Shotguns are one of the most effective weapons to take down Juggernauts, which are heavily armored enemies. The R9-O shotgun is your best chance to deal significant damage to a Juggernaut.
The Riot Shield is also a weapon often unnoticed by the players. As Juggernauts are prone to focus on players in cover, any of your squad members using Riot Shield will basically attract them. In the short timeframe, the rest of the squad can pin down the Juggernaut.
In the utility side of things, the Stun Grenades can be used to stun several enemies. This gives the player a short amount of time to take out multiple enemies at once. It is also useful for escaping a near-death situation.

Munitions for Spec Ops Missions

Unlike getting killstreaks in multiplayer, munitions are given to players after earning a certain amount of points in a Spec Ops mission. These points are given for killing enemies, finishing objectives, and reviving teammates. There are a lot of munitions to recommend, but the free ones are definitely the best for Spec Ops. These are Ammo Crate, Grenade Crate, and Armor Crate. Using these munitions, players can restock for ammo, grenade, and armor respectively.

Player Roles in Spec Ops Missions

Although there isn’t a specific role for players to choose from, we recommended players to go with Assault and Medic roles, considering how important it is for Spec Ops missions.
The Assault role is more suitable for aggressive players. The Team Stopping Power (active ability) gives you and your teammates extra firepower to deal more damage to enemies than usual. Fast Reload is a passive ability that comes with the Assault role.
Players with the Medic role can use the active ability called Team Revive to revive other squad players quickly. The Quick Revive (passive ability) can be used to revive injured teammates much faster. Juggernauts are not easy to beat. Hence at least one squad player should select the Medic role.
