Honor Play 8 with 5.71-inch HD+ display, Helio A22 SoC Launched: Price, Specifications


Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has launched its new smartphone, Honor Play 8 in the Chinese market. This is the third smartphone from the Play 8 series after the launch of Play 8A and Play 8C smartphones. Like the other Play 8-series phones, the new Honor Play 8 is also a budget smartphone. Key features of this smartphone include a waterdrop-style notch, MediaTek A22 SoC, Android 9.0, a 5.71-inch HD+ screen, and a 3,020mAh battery. 

Honor Play 8 Specifications

The all-new Honor Play 8 sports a 5.71-inch HD+ (720×1520 pixels) IPS screen with 294ppi. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio A22 SoC that is paired with an IMG GE8300 GPU. Additionally, this smartphone comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded further up to 512GB via an external MicroSD card.

In the camera department, the Honor Play 8 houses a single 13-megapixel primary shooter on the back with an f/1.8 aperture and an LED flash module. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie shooter with an f/2.2 aperture.

Apart from this, the Honor Play 8 runs on the latest Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9.0 on top. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, Micro-USB port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Also, this smartphone is fuelled by 3,020mAh battery.

Honor Play 8 Price and Availability

As per a post on Honor China’s official Weibo account, the Honor Play 8 price has been set at CNY 599 (roughly Rs. 6,000) and it is now on sale via the company’s Vmall store as well as other major e-retailers in China. It is being offered in two colours – Aurora Blue and Midnight Black.
