Season 4: Reloaded is set to arrive in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone this week, and Activision has shared more details about what players can expect from the new season.
In addition to a new Battle Pass and new maps and modes, players will also see the introduction of three characters from Amazon Prime’s popular TV show, The Boys.
Season 4 Reloaded begins tomorrow, July 12, and fans of Warzone will be happy to know that Resurgence will still be available. However, for those who prefer the traditional Battle Royale experience, the Vondel map will now support up to 72 players. It will feature dedicated Quads, Trios, Duos, and Solos Playlists.
One of the highlights of the new season is the addition of the New Gulag in the wine cellar and dungeon of Vondel Castle. This three-lane map features a central circular structure with an opening that faces the two main spawn points.
Warzone will also introduce a map rotation system called Rotating Resurgence Playlists specifically for Resurgence modes. After a certain period of time, the playlists will shift between Vondel and Ashika Island for different squad sizes.
The popular Occupation Scan and Signals Intelligence Contract are making a comeback, with adjustments made for Battle Royale and Resurgence modes. Players will need to hack three contract phones within a time limit to complete the task and stay alive.
New to Season 4 is the Portable Redeploy Drone, an exclusive Field Upgrade for Vondel that allows operators to hang onto the drone itself and be flown high into the air. This upgrade is not available in DMZ.
For DMZ players, there will be new options for Plea for Help and new mechanics for Assimilation. Additionally, squads hunting other players may encounter a new Hunt Contract.
In the main game, Modern Warfare 2, players can look forward to RAID: Atomgrad Episode 04, which concludes TF 141’s Special Operations.
The multiplayer experience will include the Vondel Waterfront Core Map, which focuses on stealth maneuvers. Some changes have been made to optimize the 6v6 multiplayer in this area, including restricting swimming underneath the houseboats and encouraging action on the pontoon homes and connecting decks.
As an added bonus, players will have the opportunity to play as famous characters from The Boys – Homelander, Starlight, and Black Noir. These characters are here to save Vondel, Al Mazrah, and the Modern Warfare 2 universe. They also bring with them a new toy called Temp V.
The Temp V Field Upgrade allows players to temporarily become a Supe. Once activated, it grants one of four random superpowers in the player’s Field Upgrade slot. These powers include Charge Jump, Electric Shockwave, Laser Vision, and Teleport.
It’s important to note that using traditional Field Upgrades will remove the effects of Temp V. So, if you pick up a different Field Upgrade like Munitions Box or Dead Silence, you will lose Temp V.
Temp V will be available in all Warzone playlists except Ranked Play, but it will be rarer in DMZ compared to Battle Royale modes.
