‘Holes’ actor wins a ‘Mortal Kombat’ tournament dressed as a ‘Goofy Movie’ character

Actor Khleo Thomas, best known for his role as Zero in the movie “Holes,” showcased his gaming prowess by emerging as the winner of a Mortal Kombat 11 tournament. What makes his victory even more impressive is that he competed dressed as Powerline from the cult classic “A Goofy Movie.”

The tournament, called the DreamCon All-Star Tournament, took place in Austin, Texas. In an intense match against CP, both players chose to play as Sub-Zero. It is worth noting that Thomas has always been a fan of the Lin Kuei ninja, dating back to his days playing Mortal Kombat on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in the ’90s.

In an interview with Kotaku, Thomas expressed his deep love for the Mortal Kombat franchise. He stated, “MK is my absolute favorite fighting game. I’ve been a loyal fan of this franchise for as long as I can remember. Everything, from the characters to the story and the stages, captivates me.”

Thomas also shared a special tradition he has with his brother. Whenever a new Mortal Kombat game is released, they play 100 matches to determine the ultimate victor. Sub-Zero has always been Thomas’ go-to character, while his brother chooses Scorpion. This choice of characters adds a poetic element to their sibling rivalry.

While Thomas is still recognized by fans for his role in “Holes,” he has since made appearances in various films and television shows, ranging from “Remember The Daze” and “Hurricane Season” to “ER,” “House,” “90210,” “Sons Of Anarchy,” and “Shameless.” Additionally, he has ventured into the world of gaming, appearing in NBA 2K19 and releasing two EPs as a rapper.

In addition to his acting and gaming endeavors, Thomas has a dedicated following on Twitch, where he streams popular games such as Apex Legends, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Fortnite. He even had the opportunity to play Diablo 4 with actress Chloë Grace Moretz in a promotional video for the game.

Moving on to other gaming news, Electronic Arts has expressed the desire to reimagine the next installment of the beloved Battlefield series.
