Hitman 3 Getting Rebranded as World of Assassination, Will Fuse Entire Trilogy Into One Package

IO Interactive’s latest entry in the Hitman series, Hitman 3, is undergoing a rebranding as “Hitman World of Assassination.” This change goes beyond mere aesthetics, as it also involves combining the previous games in the trilogy, Hitman 1 and Hitman 2, into one cohesive package. The update is set to take effect on January 26 and aims to streamline distribution and eliminate confusion for new players regarding which edition to purchase. As all game content is interconnected through DLCs and locations, this unified approach makes it easier for players to navigate the game. Existing owners of Hitman 3 will receive a free upgrade to the new game on all major platforms.

Both Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 will be delisted from storefronts, leaving Hitman World of Assassination as the sole purchasing option. According to the official blog post, “Essentially, these two changes will mean that all new players and existing HITMAN 3 owners will have the same base content ownership.” The new package will be available in two editions: a standard edition, which includes the aforementioned trilogy, and a Deluxe Pack. The standard edition will cost approximately $70/ Rs. 3,299, while the Deluxe Pack provides access to three premium extensions – the Deluxe Pack itself, the Seven Deadly Sins Collection, and the H2 Expansion Access Pass – priced at around $30 (about Rs. 2,478).

“We want the experience for new players to be straightforward and concrete. We believe the above changes will achieve that,” adds the blog post. “The reason for this flexibility is that we know many of you own certain games or DLCs but not others, and we don’t want to force anyone to (re)buy what they already own.” On Steam, IO Interactive will implement a “complete the set” feature for the three DLC packs included in the Deluxe edition. If a player owns two of the three DLCs, they will only be charged $10 (about Rs. 826) for the remaining pack. The prices will be divided equally.

After a one-year exclusivity period on the Epic Games Store, Hitman 3 was finally released on Steam in January of last year, receiving a mixed response from PC gamers. These players were already disappointed by the delayed launch, and their discontent grew when they realized that the game was still priced at the full amount of $60/ Rs. 1,888 for the base edition, with additional payments required to access bonus content. As part of Steam’s annual Winter Sale, the Hitman trilogy is currently available at a discounted price of Rs. 1,154. This promotion ends tonight, January 5, at 11:30pm IST.

On January 26, Hitman World of Assassination will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X, incorporating all three Hitman games into one comprehensive experience.
