Here’s Everything About Vehicles in Cyberpunk 2077 Revealed During Today’s Night City Wire

Here are some details revealed during today’s Night City Wire about the ways you’ll be able to travel in style in Cyberpunk 2077

Today’s Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire focused mainly on the rides of the future. We got a nice, detailed look at the different classes of cars players will be able to drift around Night City or roar through the Badlands in. With a variety of vehicles, players will have to choose the best for the occasion, whether that means focusing on speed, security or affordability.

Economy cars are the same in the future as they are now – cheap, not all that pretty and utilitarian. They’re meant to get you from point A to point B without having to shove your augmented legs through the bottom and running the thing there a la The Flintstones. We saw the name of two manufacturers for this class, Thorton and Archer, although there could be others. Cars of this class are also likely going to be the smallest in the game, meaning if you need more maneuverability, you may want to stick with a cheaper box car.

The next step up is Executive vehicles. These cars are more like the Lincolns or BMWs you’ll see on the street today. Manufactured by Villefort, Chevillon and Delamain, these cars are decked out with the latest tech. Plush, leather interiors boost their lavish style, as do the expensive extra sets of wheels on some of these rides. These cars aren’t just for getting around, but for making everyone in the surrounding lanes feel bad for not having your ride.

Moving away from consumer vehicles is the Heavy Duty class. These aren’t cars as much as they are utility vehicles, and as such, they’re made by some of the more powerful companies. Besides the Kaukaz trucks, Militech has its own transport vehicles, decked out like tanks. These are the rides you go for if you know the going’s getting tough, and you need something that won’t slow down crashing into oncoming traffic.

Now we’re able to get to the fun rides. Sports cars are exactly what you’d expect in Cyberpunk – tuned to the max, and flashy. Built by Quadra and Mizutani these cars are going to be player’s best friends in street races or escapes from the law. Naturally, there’s also a ton of tech inside these cars too. Their dashboards light up with detailed displays, and there’s more buttons on their steering wheels than anyone actually needs.

One thing has been missing so far from vehicles though: excess. That’s where the Hypercars come in. These rides combine the best of both worlds, offering top speeds and high-grade protection from whatever’s going on outside. Manufactured by Herrera and Rayfield, these cars are slick, quick and packed to the brim with advanced tech, like auto dimming windows.

But if riding on more than two wheels isn’t your style, there’s still an option for getting around and looking good doing it. Motorcycles offer yet another way to travel in and around Night City, and they have a very real-world counterpart. Based on the designs of Arch motorcycles, co-founded by Keanu Reeves, the voice actor for Johnny Silverhand, these rides won’t just look like real-world bikes, they’ll sound like them too. Extensive attention has been given to the sound design of motorcycles, so players will be able to hear every part of the machine as it speeds them across a neon-lit highway.

While we got a great look at the vehicles of Cyberpunk 2077 during today’s Night City Wire, there’s still plenty of questions left to answer. There’s no word yet on how customizable cars will actually be, and we definitely don’t know how CD Projekt Red’s first foray into driving mechanics will feel in game. Regardless, it seems like the vehicles of Night City are just another part of Cyberpunk 2077 that have received excruciating detail.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release on November 19 for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia.
