Harley Quinn, Kite Man & More Updates!
The upcoming fourth season of Harley Quinn, with showrunner Sarah Peters at the helm, promises a deeper exploration of Poison Ivy as a character. EPs Patrick Schumacker & Justin Halpern shared their excitement for viewers to see Peters’ unique take on Ivy, including her new role with the Legion of Doom. The show’s success has been attributed to the diverse perspectives of its female writers, with Peters’ contributions, in particular, making a lasting impact.
Additionally, a spinoff series centered around Kite Man, titled Kite Man: Hell Yeah!, is set to further expand the Harley Quinn universe. Halpern describes the spinoff as having similar vibes to the Valentine’s Day special, with a focus on B-list supervillains in a “Cheers” meets “Mary Tyler Moore” setting. Fans can expect a fun and quirky ride with Kite Man and other beloved characters.

In 2022, it was announced at SXSW that an animated spinoff series called Noonan’s, featuring Kite Man, was in the works. The series would revolve around Kite Man’s attempt to run a notorious hangout spot in Gotham. With guest appearances from the likes of Lex Luthor and Bane, the show promises to be a captivating and hilarious experience. HBO Max’s enthusiasm for the concept led to a 10-episode series order, with Matt Oberg reprising his role as Kite Man. The spinoff will be executive produced by Harley Quinn co-creators Patrick Schumacker, Justin Halpern, Dean Lorey, Katie Rich, and original series star Kaley Cuoco.
