‘Harley Quinn’ and More: Max Adult Animation Trailer Showcases the Highly-Anticipated Return

Max made a significant impact at this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival with a captivating sizzle reel that offers a glimpse into the exciting world of adult animation. The reel featured the first image from the new series, “Young Love,” as well as the trailer for the second season of “Ten Year Old Tom.” Let’s explore the logline for “Young Love.”

“Young Love” builds upon the success of the animated short film “Hair Love,” which focused on the bond between an African American father, his daughter Zuri, and the daunting challenge of styling her hair for the first time. This Max Original animated series takes an honest and comedic look into the lives of the Young family, including millennial parents Stephen and Angela, their daughter Zuri, and her pet cat Rocky. They navigate the complexities of their careers, marriage, parenthood, social issues, and multi-generational dynamics while striving for a better life.

In “Ten Year Old Tom,” we follow the adventures of a typical child who faces the challenges of growing up while being influenced by misguided advice from well-meaning adults. Tom’s journey becomes even more challenging as he encounters negative influences at every turn, from overzealous parents caught in legal disputes to bus drivers involved in illicit activities and school administrators with ulterior motives towards his mother. Despite the good intentions of the adults in his life, Tom struggles to find positive role models.

Max also highlighted its upcoming Max Originals programming in a sizzle reel, showcasing the exciting lineup of shows currently in development. These include “Anything Factory,” “Uptown Bodega,” and “Keeping Up with the Joneses.” These new shows join Max’s existing roster of highly anticipated Max Originals, including the fourth season of “Harley Quinn” scheduled for release this summer. Let’s take a closer look at the synopses for the shows under development.

“Keeping Up with the Joneses” follows the Newberry family as they strive to maintain their past success while living in the shadow of Jerry Jones and their wealthy neighbors in the Dallas suburb of Highland Park. “Anything Factory” tells the story of Henry Zingo, who reconnects with his sick father and helps his sister manage a troubled factory marred by numerous health and safety violations. “Uptown Bodega” centers around Tati Cruz, who inherits a bodega and sets out to reinvent it in a rapidly changing city.

Other exciting additions to Max’s lineup include “Velma,” “Clone High,” “Fired on Mars,” “Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake,” “Scavengers Reign,” DC’s “Harley Quinn” spinoff “Kite Man: Hell Yeah!,” and “Creature Commandos.” “Creature Commandos” marks the beginning of the new DC Universe slate and is brought to life by acclaimed producers James Gunn and Peter Safran.
