According to a report by PCGamesN, Dan Haelian, another prominent Hades YouTuber, shared a video titled “Why no one has beaten the max heat in Hades or probably ever will.” In this video, Haelian explains that completing this challenge is deemed impossible due to the necessity of activating every “heat” modifier in the game. These modifiers significantly increase the game’s difficulty by providing health, damage, and speed buffs to all enemies and bosses.
To add further complexity, players lose access to their Mirror Talents, which grant Zagreus valuable buffs, and are limited to choosing only one Boon option instead of the usual three. Additionally, they must sacrifice a Boon before progressing to the next stage and play on Hell Mode, which removes Zagreus’s invulnerability after taking damage. Furthermore, players are required to complete each stage within a strict time limit of five minutes.
On August 2, 2023, Jade uploaded a video on their YouTube channel titled “HADES 64 HEAT UNSEEDED UNMODDED (Thought to be IMPOSSIBLE),” showcasing their successful completion of the challenging speed run with 36 seconds to spare. In the description of the video, Jade expressed their sentiments about achieving this supposedly “impossible” feat by stating, “I am a f—ing legend at this videogame – 51 minutes of attempts, to get luck that is arguably unachievable in thousands of hours. never say never I guess.”
Jade managed to escape the underworld and defeat Hades by utilizing the powerful Aspect of Zeus Shield. This specific upgrade enables Zagreus to spin around, damaging enemies in his vicinity, while the base shield provides a defense against enemy attacks. Jade also utilized the Explosive Return upgrade, which causes an explosion upon the shield’s return, and a Zeus upgrade that triggers lightning bolts to strike enemies during the spinning maneuver.
