Google will end its John Legend Google Assistant voice on March 23rd

If you have gotten used to using John Legend’s voice on your Google Assistant, it’s time to say goodbye to it. Today, Google announced that it will lose John Legend’s voice cameo on Assistant on March 23rd. Google added the singer’s voice to its roster of available Google Assistant voices at Google I/O last April.

Even though the tech giant stated that the voice cameo will be available for a limited time but has never specified an exact time of its end. But now, the company is taking his voice off-air from Google Assistant on March 23rd.

John Legend’s cameo came with its own set of personality-specific Easter eggs. You’ll get him crooning if you ask him to sing you “Happy Birthday” or if you ask about Chrissy Teigen, his equally famous wife.

As of now, if you really want a celebrity voice as your Google Assistant over the standard selections, Google will continue to offer comedian Issa Rae as an option. Well, before it went off-air, you can continue to use his voice cameo by saying “Hey Google talk like a Legend” and your Assistant will opt his voice cameo for you.
