Google updates its Contacts App by Adding Support for Android Slices for New Contacts

Android Slices has been known as the most underused feature of the latest Android Operating System i.e. Android Pie and Android Q and most Android users are unaware of this feature. It’s become an important part of the new Android Q Operating System and now Android wants the users to test out this feature on their existing Android devices as well.

Yes, Google has recently updated their Contacts app for Android users which adds support for Android Slices when you add new contact numbers to the app.

Android Slices made available with the latest update of the Google Contacts app on Android Q and Android Pie operating systems. This new feature makes it easier for the users to add a new contact to the app without leaving the current app.

According to this new feature, when a user wants to add new contacts from different apps like WhatsApp, they will be prompted with an add contact page on the top of the existing page of the WhatsApp. Once you add a new contact, just tap on to the Save button. The new contact will be saved and the screen will be gone itself. You don’t need to leave or re-launch the existing WhatsApp app for the same.

The update is a new server-side update of the Google Contacts app. This update comes with a version number 3.57. The same update brings new dark mode support and a lot of additional features to the existing Android update.

Many giant tech blogs have figured it out and tested these new Android Slices feature on their updated Google Contacts app. The same update will be made available soon in the global market. Google will also release a statement regarding this update in the coming time.

Thankfully, the updated Google Contacts app is now available as its APK file on APKMirror. Get the updated app from there and you will be able to test it out this new Android Slices feature on your app.
