Google To Bring a Portrait Mode to Chrome OS

Portrait Mode is highly used by mobile users. Portrait Mode was announced by Apple in the year 2016 to take natural-looking photos from iPhones. Gradually, the same photo-taking mode popularized by other brands and this feature is now widely available on most smartphones.

Now, Google has decided to bring the same Portrait Mode feature on the Chrome OS. Yes, Google has revealed that they are bringing the Portrait Mode feature to Chrome OS. The supported device will be able to make use of this mode to take pictures. The new Portrait Mode feature is available on the latest Chrome OS 76.

There are many tablet users who enjoy taking photos on their respective devices. To give them the best of photo shooting experience and to make their lives simpler, Google has decided to bring this feature on the Chrome OS so that the Chrome OS supported users can also take professional-looking photos.

Some Chrome OS-powered devices come with poor selfie cameras. You can’t expect from these types of tablets to feature the Portrait Mode. If you have an advanced and premium tablet device running on Chrome OS, only then you will be able to use this feature.

We hope to see the HDR+ Photography feature to Chrome OS from Google with the next major update. The new HDR+ mode will definitely add more users to the Chrome OS platform. Unlike the Portrait Mode, HDR+ mode is highly used by the people.

At the launch, the new Portrait Mode feature will be exclusive for the company’s Pixel devices. The company also stated that they will bring the same Portrait Mode to Chromebooks very soon.

We have to accept the fact that most Chromebooks come with a poor camera. Google has also decided not to work on the new Tablet devices. So it would be a little harder for the Chromebooks with a poor camera to enjoy the Portrait Mode feature.

The company has put all the information about this new Portrait Mode feature on the official Keyword blog. You can head over to the keyword blog to know more about the August Chrome OS update.
