Google to Add Password Integration into Chrome 78


Google has its own Password Checkup tool as Chrome Extension to let users secure their Chrome account. Now, Google is planning to expand this feature to the Chrome browser as a default feature. Yes, Google has already decided to bring the Password Checkup to Chrome browser with the upcoming Google Chrome 78 update.

Google added the Password Checkup extension in the last year. This extension provides great security to user’s accounts and keeps their credentials secured from access by unauthorized users.

9to5Google reported everything about the future plans of the Chrome browser. As per the reports, the new Chromium Bug Tracker, the Search Giant is looking to change a lot of things by adding new security features for the users. The first security feature would be the new Password Checkup feature.

The design documents are currently kept private and we are unable to fetch the actual documents.

The reports also claim that the new Password Checkup tool which will be integrated directly with the Chrome browser and will come as enabled feature by default. Users who don’t want to keep this feature or tool enabled, they can simply disable this feature from the Settings option.

Yes, the new Password Checkup’s option will be there in the Settings menu with a toggle button. You can enable or disable this feature whenever you want right from the Chrome browser installed on your system.

Initially, the new Password Checkup feature will be made available for Enterprise users. However, soon the same tool will be released for public users.

There are no words on the specific launch date of Google Chrome 78 edition as of now. We will have to wait for the official confirmation on the launch date and about this new security feature from Google. Google will soon release a blog post regarding this update. Stay tuned with us!
