When it comes to tracking an online package, we first search online on Google to find the official tracking site. Google directs us to the official site of the courier partner for further process. But now, Google is working on to directly integrate the package tracking system into its Search engine. That means you will be able to track your package directly from Google search without visiting the courier site.
Google today announced a Package Tracking Early Access Program where shipping companies can “show people the status of their packages right on Search.” One mockup design shows a card in Search that lets you enter a tracking number.
Once you click on the Track Package, it will immediately show the result of your package status. This includes the package destination and expected delivery estimate, as well as an up-to-date timeline of shipping events. At the bottom are links to view details on the carrier’s site and contact information.
Integrating this package tracking system will fasten the search query and ease of access information for the users. Google has already many features like that on its Search engine and this new feature will make Google Search more useful for users. The beta program is available in all countries and allows interested shipping carriers to participate and provide feedback.
