Google Search Now Shows NHS Advice In The UK

Google is making it easier for users residing in UK to get medical and health information from trusted sources directly in Search. Starting this week, when you search anything related to health condition, you will see the advice related to it directly from the NHS website.

The search giant is making it easy for the users to seek trusted health advice directly from the National Health Service (NHS) in a card giving all teh necesaary information such as symptoms and treatment for the searched health issue.

For instance, you can search for a condition like back pain or chickenpox, you will get an overview related to that condition with its symptoms and a list of possible treatments without having to click through to visit a website. Google mentioned that, as for the initial basis, the Knowledge Panels will be available for over 250 conditions which will expand in numbers with time.

This is not the first time Google has made such efforts to bring Knowledge Panels to directly show the results from a reputable source. Currently, the tech giant shows the Knowledge Panels for various topics, like celebrities. Searching for a musician’s name will bring up Knowledge Panels with information about them and their work, as well as links to where you can hear their music and their videos.

More recently, it started displaying Knowledge Panels for Coronavirus. When you search for coronavirus on Google, you will see a Knowledge panel that will consist information related to that which are directly inherited from the World Health Organization (WHO).
