Google has a special section of its Digital Wellbeing tool and starting from today, the search giant has made its much-awaited “Focus Mode” available for Android 10 and Android 9 Pie phone users. This feature is designed to turn off the distractions while working or driving or doing any other activities.

You can turn off the distractions or we can say notifications from the apps for a specific time period. You can turn off social media updates or email notifications and can apply the same thing to other applications using the Focus Mode.

Google had first introduced their Focus Mode in this May month during their Annual Developer Conference i.e. Google I/0 2019. The same feature was under its testing phase with its Beta version. And today, Google has made this Focus Mode official for the users of Android 10 and Android 9 Pie mobile operating systems.

Of course, you can use the Do Not Disturb mode on your Android smartphone which turns off all the notifications, sounds and blocks voice calls. While this new Focus Mode only make them silence.

You can find this under the Digital Wellbeing settings with a Focus Mode option. When you select the Focus Mode option, you will be presented with all the apps and games that can distract you through notifications. With this mode, you can actually pause the most distracting apps from the device. Whenever you try to open the Paused app, the Focus Mode reminds you that the apps are paused by the focus mode.

You can choose the specific time period to pause down such apps. You can even keep them silenced during your working hours i.e. 9 to 5. Apart from this, the same Focus Mode has a special break time that lets you select the break time within the set period of time. You can open the paused apps for the given break time. If you choose 5 minutes of break time, then the app can be opened for five minutes.

Google has officially confirmed that they have released the stable version of this new Focus Mode. It is available for the devices that support Digital Wellbeing Apps.
