Google Photos now let you search for texts in your photos

Google Photos is one of the best album managers available on Android that offers tons of features. Out of many great features and options, one of the most powerful tools of Google Photos is its Search tool. The Search tool on Google Photos allows you to find objects, locations, pets, events or even people within your snaps thanks to some advanced AI, but now, it is becoming more advanced than before.

Google is rolling out a new ability to the search tool on Google photos called the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) that recognizes the texts from the images and lets you search for photos with them. This means you can search for any photo in Google Photos just by searching for the texts in that.

Not only this, once you find the picture with those texts in it, you can even copy that texts using OCR with the help of Google Lens and can paste it elsewhere. The new OCR tech is that much powerful that it can even recognize non-standard fonts that are skewed and distorted, which is rather impressive.

Google Photos itself confirmed this feature on Twitter after being initially spotted by users @can and @hunterwalk.

As for the availability of this feature, the new OCR tech is rolling out to Google Photos starting this month. This feature will be coming for both Android and web users. As of now, there is no confirmation that this feature will be heading to iOS or not.
