A few weeks ago, Google has made its RCS enabled to all US Carriers through the default messaging app. If you live in the US and yet to receive this app, kindly update the Google Messages and US Carrier app from your Android device.
After the availability of this new RCS feature, Google is now trying to attract a number of users and encouraging them to use their default Messaging app on their respective Android devices. The company has added two new features to the default Messages app.
The aim behind launching these two new features is to make the messaging platform more reliable. It lets users know about the spammy messages and also recognize the verified businesses through the app.
Whenever we receive a passcode or OTP number, usually it gets sent from an unauthorized mobile number or a completely unknown number. However, there comes a time when you receive a message from an unknown number with a link and ask you to click on to the link. It’s a way of hacking a device and if you click on to the given link, chances of your device hack are high. Better not to visit the links sent from unknown sources.
Google introduces a new Verified SMS feature. This feature helps the users to identify the authenticity of the number and also lets you know whether it is sent from an authorized person or business. In the chat, this feature will show you the name of the company along with its logo.
In the US, many brands have started showing off their companies’ names and logos in the Messages app. This new feature i.e. Verified SMS is now rolling out the regions such as the US, India, Mexico, Brazil, UK, France, Philippines, Spain, and Canada. The company has decided to expand the list of this feature’s availability in more regions in the coming weeks. So we will receive the same update and the app’s availability in more countries.
Apart from this, the company has introduced a Real-time spam detection feature for US users. The app itself suspect the spam messages and it will show you the messages with a red alert sign.
