Internet search giant Google is working on a “facelift” of its email service Gmail, according to a report by 9to5Google.
The report claims that Google has circulated the image of what appears to be a new icon of the emailing service.
“It’s clear based on the image Google sent us that the company is at least working on a new logo,” said the report by 9to5Google.
The report describes that the logo is a rather technical drawing of the new upcoming logo that apparently gets rids of the envelope icon, which has been part of the current icon which is there from 2013.
Other than the shape of the icon, the report also predicts that Google will also make the colour scheme of the icon that includes the multiple colours such as Blue, Green, Yellow, and Red.
It remains to be seen whether Google will also be changing the interface of the Gmail service too or not.
Last month, Google integrated Chat, Meet, and Gmail on the web and Android and is soon expected to roll out the same to iOS users too.
With this update, users are also now able to assign group tasks, get notified about task updates in rooms, pin important rooms so they’re easier to find and access, set your availability to “Do not disturb”, better protect your time with status notices in Chat like “Out of office,” see files shared in a room, see integrated search results and toggle between Email and Chat results on the web and start a new meeting or see your upcoming meetings under “Meet” on the web.
