Taxi service providers are taking advantages of their customers by taking a longer route which can be a little costly to you. They are always making fool of their customers by doing so and to save your time and money, Google is going to introduce a new safety feature to its popular navigation app, Google Maps.

Yes, Google is adding a new Safety Feature to Google Maps for Taxi Passengers. You can simply view the right route on Google Maps or any other navigation app on your smartphone while you are in the Taxi. But Google’s new update will tell you whenever the driver is taking a wrong and a longer route than usual.

This feature is simply helpful to those who are using Google Maps in different cities where the routes are unknown. The same feature also helps the users to know about the real-time traffic on the routes so you can check for your guest who is taking curring on the route in a taxi.

According to XDA Developers, the updated Google Maps will send an alert message to the user when you are off-route for 500 meters. Your route will not be re-routed unless you do so. This feature will help the passengers to stick to the same route. Currently, Google Maps reroutes you whenever you drive on a different track. However, with this new update, the Maps will send an alert to notify you about the wrong route.

Whenever you receive an alert from Google, you can simply discuss the same with your Taxi driver. You can also ask him to revert to the shortest route which can cost you a little low. Google Maps sends an update in real-time and whenever the driver complains about the traffic, you can simply check for the same on Google Maps’ app. You will be able to see whether the route you have selected has traffic on the way or not.

The same feature will help you while you are driving your own car. This new feature has been made available in India. There is no information about this feature’s availability in other markets as of now. However, we will update you about the same in the future.
