Google Maps Location Sharing Gets Quietly Improved


Google has silently shipped an improved location-sharing interface on Maps which was first noticed by Android Police. The location-sharing feature on Maps has got a modern look that also shows more information on cards.

With this change, sharing location with anyone has been much easier with Google Maps. You just need to tap on your avatar and go to Location Sharing, after which a new button “New Share” is available on the bottom right corner of the screen. This feature has been revamped to make it equal to other parts of Google Maps which have been revamped recently.

In addition to the change in design, there is also an updated section at the bottom of Location sharing that explains in better detail how the feature works and clarifies what personal information gets shared along with your location to people whom you’re sharing with. That includes not only where you are, but where you’ve just been and whether you’re driving or walking, along with your places, such as home and work.

Google has added some new features and options in the last month to help users connect to healthcare options amid the world is suffering from COVI-19. There is also a new “get online care” link now appears when searching for doctor’s offices or hospitals, guiding users, however, it is only available in the United States.
