Google Chrome will get a brand new Explore feature on Android devices soon, as development for the new UI is in undergoing according to Android Police. The new Explore tab for Google Chrome is currently being tested by Google on Android devices. This new user interface can be accessed on Android by enabling an experimental flag.
This experimental feature requires the latest version of Chrome for Android. To enable the Explore interface, Go to chrome://flags in the browser, search for “explore” and choose the “Explore websites” flag when it shows up in your searches. Enable that option and then relaunch Chrome, and the Explore interface will now pop up when you open a new tab page.
The Explore UI feature will give a new way for Chrome users to discover a lot of contents that might be of interest to them. It provides quick access to websites that you might like. The suggestions may be based on your interest or according to your region. As per the report, this feature is currently under the testing phase, and consists of placeholder sites, mostly Indian sites may be useful for Indian users.
We can assume that this feature will not be just an India-specific feature as the report said that the Explore interface is an experimental one. Reasons may be Google is just trying to test it out in the Indian market first, and will roll it out later for others as well.
Even though Google has already made it accessible in the stable version of Chrome for Android, it is not a guarantee that the new Explore UI will make its way into becoming an official one.
