Internet search giant Google has rolled out a new software update to Google Fit and Wear OS by Google. According to the company, the new update will make tracking and understanding wellness information easier.
Starting with the Google Fit app, the company has not only revamped the app for both Android and iOS users, but also introduced new tools.
As part of the revamp, the Google Fit app shows information across different connected apps and devices into one hub. Also, it comes with a summary of a user’s metrics to view at a glance on the home screen whether or not they are meeting their daily and weekly goals for Heart Points and Steps, view their most recent workout and keep track of their heart rate, weight and blood pressure trends over time.
Further, the company has added more sleep information into Google Fit as it will allow users to track their nightly activity, view sleep stages, set a goal for their bedtime schedule and more using connected devices or sleep-tracking apps.
The Google Fit Workouts Tile on Wear OS by Google smartwatches will also show shortcuts to take users to their most recent workouts and also offer all metrics in one view on their screen. Additionally, the Google Fit app will allow users to share stats, routes or photos from their favourite Google Fit journal entries.
Lastly, the new Breathe Tile is said to offer easier access to guided breathing sessions and offers a summary that includes how their heart rate changed between the beginning and end.
